Any information on this brand would be appreciated. I am looking into purchasing a table for new home and am looking for a quality table, but not one that costs major $$$$s. Hoping to find one that fits in a $1,500 budget or less. I have played pool in college at pool halls, but never paid any attention to what "brand" I was playing on. Some advice from some of the experts out there would be appreciated.

To my untrained eye the greenleaf specs look pretty good, but admittedly I could be snowed easily.

Whats wrong with my pool table and how do I fix it?

Hi. I bought a Brunswick 7 ft table about a year ago. It's at a little vacation cabin so it's been used very little.

I was playing the other day when I noticed I could hear a strange sound while playing. When examining the table I noticed that at one end, where the middle slab meets the end slab, there's a ridge. In other words, the two pieces don't fit together flat. If I roll a ball across the table you can hear when it rolls across that ridge.

It's not noticeable just through site. But if you run your finger tips along the table you can certainly feel it. And if you roll a ball very, very slowly at it, it will actually stop the ball and make it go backwards. The felt is also showing the first signs of wear from the ball rolling across the ridge.

As I said, the table is not quite a year old and been played only a few times. I'm going to go and talk with the store that we purchased it from and who also installed it. But I have zero knowledge about tables. Can anyone help? Is this problem common? Is it their fault? What needs to be done to fix it, and should they take care of it or will we have to pay for it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can’t find right refelting directions for my table

I have a 7' Dynamo commerical 1-piece slate table. I can pull the slate off the table and see that originaly, the felt was wrapped around the top of the slate and glued to the bottom. (This allows the entire slate to be removed. EVERY set of directions on how to re-felt a table that I've seen talks about stapling the felt on one side, pulling tight, stapling on the other....etc, etc. If I were to do that I'd never be avle to remove the slate without ripping up the felt.
I have yet to find and directions that match how this felt was originally applied and I'd really like to re-do it that way.

Any advice on where to get a proper set of directions?
Thanks!

Table help me decide between…

I've been looking for a pool table and have been getting some conflicting information.

The Brunswick dealer tells me their tables are the best,

The guy down the street selling Presidential tables tells me Brunswick uses cheap slate that needs lots of filler putty and to buy his table (of course he would say that)

the Olhousen dealer tells me his tables are the best.

I really like the Brunswick Camden II and am leaning that way, however, if I spend that kind of money I want something that is going to be passed down to my kids and have the best playing surface for the longest time possible.

I'm looking at the higher end cloth (not sure what it's called buy does not look chunky like the standard felt).

Any feedback on these brands or even the Brunswick Camden II would be much appriciated.

Also would like to know if the deal the Brunswick guy has is a good one, looking at the table, upgraded cloth on the table, an "upgraded" play package that includes horse hair brushes vs vinal, nagahide cover, "highend" resign balls, and "upgraded" two piece cues with stainless steal joint. basic cue rack, 8 and 9 ball rack. He's asking $5,000 out the door (includes tax).

a little help would be great.

Billiard Table Advice?

What tables do you like the best. I love my diamond table.

How about size of the table or cloth color?

I tend to play on 9 foot tables a lot less these days.It seems that there are more tournaments and action on bar tables in my area right now.I have a new 9 foot diamond and a valley bar box at home.

I tend to stick with the green felt.I have to say I hate the red color felts. It just seems hard for me to play well on red felt.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and to owning a pool table. I just bought my neighbors used table. I don't know what kind it is or if it's regulation size. all I know is it's in decent shape for a '70s table. The felt has one small rip at one of the corner holes (on the bumper?) and the felt is filthy. But that's pretty much all that's wrong with it. So how do you clean the felt and is there anything I can do with the small rip? I don't really want to change the whole felt. Thanks
