Hey everyone, I have a question about pool table constuction. Has anyone ever seen or heard of a pool table built with a steel frame (just to mount and hold the slate)? Im tossing around the idea of building my own table and I was thinking it might be stronger and easier if the slate laid on steel rather than wood, it would still be covered and decorated in wood. Im a metal fabricator and Im sure that I could build the frame from steel and it would be straighter and stronger. I currently have a table but I made the mistake of looking at it real hard 1 day and decided that I did not like the way it was built and decided that I could do it better. Sorry, its a disease that I have, looking forward for some input and opinions on this, thankyou.
